  1. Hey I just responded to another post regarding my interview! I got an invitation to interview only 2 1/2 weeks after the application deadline, but I did not get notified that I was accepted until about 5 weeks after the interview. They did provide a weekly time commitment chart which is ~60 hours per week between class time, clinical, and "prep time". The amount of time allocated to each varies each semester but about half of that is spent in the classroom/clinicals each week. They do not recommend working at all during this program. I also have experience as an ER Tech! While medical experience is not required I think it definitely helped strengthen my application. I don't think there is any single part of the application they value over other areas. They want applicants who are well-rounded and can demonstrate the ability to succeed academically, but good grades alone are not going to get you accepted just like a lower GPA won't automatically rule you out. I would simply focus on highlighting your strengths such as having that medical background and experience that others may not and preparing strong responses for your interview that show you are prepared to take on the workload of this program.
  2. Thank you! I had my interview over zoom. My interview was very much focused on my own experiences and what I learned from them. I would obviously prepare for basic questions such as why nursing, what does a nurse do, why NP over other healthcare professions, and why Azusa specifically. However, the bulk of the questions they asked me were mostly scenario based such as "describe a challenge you overcame and what you learned from that". I would have several examples in mind where you have demonstrated traits that would make you successful both in the program and as a nurse/health care provider and highlight those in your responses. Something they also asked me was if I have any spiritual practices and how I care for my emotional health because they want to make sure that you already have mechanisms in place to cope with stress and manage the workload. Overall I felt the questions were pretty straight forward and they were very much just trying to get to know me! I am also pretty introverted so to prepare and build my confidence I watched many YouTube videos for common nursing interview questions, then I compiled a list of like 20 questions and answers which I studied over and over and practiced out loud which helped a lot for me. ? As for pre-requisites my non-science GPA was 3.8 and science GPA was 3.37!
  3. Hey everyone! I will be attending the ELM program in Spring at the San Diego campus. I applied and was accepted last cycle; however, I had to defer my enrollment a semester due to personal circumstances. I would be happy to answer any questions anyone has having gone through the process already!
  4. Hi Victoria, one of my emails said decisions will be distributed in early to mid July. Are you able to share tips or types of questions they asked you in your interview?
