AVC Fall 2021

Published

Hi, anyone applying for AVC Fall 2021. I'm finally done with my prereqs and I just ordered my transcripts. Now I'm just waiting to take my TEAS before the deadline.

I applied for the "generic " RN program.

This is my first time applying. Are all students placed on a waiting list before being accepted into the program? Or students off the waitlist are considered first before first time applicants?

Technically they don’t do a waitlist. So for the two ladies up there, they applied for LVN-RN bridge. That particular way of applying will put them on a waitlist because it’s a first come first serve type of thing. But for generic, there isn’t a waitlist. Instead, they keep your application on file if you don’t get in to the cycle you apply for and they look at it again the following semester. After that, if you still don’t get in then you will need to reapply.

OK thanks for explaining

I’m curious if @lvn2010 needed to update her ap because for the LVN-RN bridge , they actually are changing it to point system . We’re unsure how many get selected from the wait list . But I did receive an email on fall from Sylvia that had a form I needed to send back basically if there were any changes. I’ll see if I can find it and post it .

I was curious, if the only thing considered for the applications are points, why does it take over 2 months to determine who gets in?

I was thinking maybe other things were looked at

Are there several application?

just points from what I know. I have no idea why they take so long if other schools let you know sooner. Maybe it’s just not enough people going over the applications?

Well I do know for example COC takes 4 months ? I’m not sure why but apparently some are waitlist some are points .

I think it they told me they screen the applications twice maybe that’s another reason

Thanks guys.

End of may just seems like an eternity.

What do you mean twice ?

we are in April already, May will be here sonnet than we think

yeah like first they make sure everyone who submitted actually meets the requirements then they turn in those for either the DON or counselor to go over the qualifying applicants and chose the ones who are getting in

That makes since ?
