Hi All
As the title says I'm an Australian trained RN (Bachelor) Grad Diploma in Midwifery and Grad cert in Child and Family Health wanting work in Ontario close to Toronto (my husband has an assignment there for 18 months) I'm trying to work out what a child Family health nurse is in Canada .....thinking it could be a public health nurse I work with families 0-5 years doing developmental checks, breastfeeding support, Immunizations, referrals for early interventions, screen for children at risk and work with women escaping Domestic violence. Any advice/help would be appreciated
Thanks

You will need to apply through the NNAS. They will assess your education and determine if you meet the requirements for Ontario. Canadian nurses are generalist trained so you need the neccessary theory and clinical hours in adult, peds, OB and mental health. The process can be quite lengthy.
