Australia and New Zealand Staffing Agencies

Published

I am interested in moving to Australia or New Zealand for nursing opportunities but am having a difficult time with the employment search. I currently work in the United States as a registered nurse in the emergency department and would like to do emergency medicine abroad. While my search has produced a few job openings I haven't found any large agencies that primarily staff for Australia or New Zealand. I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for me for agencies that I can contact that primarily staff for those two countries. It seems that most of the international nursing agencies that I continue to look at do not have any positions abroad or are limited to one or two. Are there any main agencies in either of those two countries. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I have never worked out of the country but would love to experience and try something new.

Thank you so much for your response. It really appears to be quite helpful, and I've only looked at a few links. Did you work in Australia in nursing at all? I know in the US and where I live it is so easy to get a job through an agency, they really want you, and if you call any agency here they will hound you until you work for them. How is it over in AU and NZ, are agencies really in need of nurses and will do whatever it takes to get you or are you just another employee? I'm wondering if it is an area that embraces international nurses. If you worked there, any sort of experience and stories I would love to hear!

Thanks!!!!
