Do you guys know any other community colleges other than Austin Community College in Austin area that offer Associate Degree in Nursing?
I found two (one in Killeen, TX and the other one in Temple, TX), but they seem pretty far to commute from Austin (65 miles one way).
Thanks

I am in the LVN program in Temple. I applied twice to the ADN program and got rejected each time even though my GPA is a 3.75. The program there is VERY competitive. It's such a bummer. ANYWAY, I think there is a new school in Round Rock that is going to start some type of nursing program. I read it on one of the bulletin boards at school. I can't remember the name though- I will check and let you know!

Hi, other than ACC, you can chose Temple College at Taylor (williamson county) LVN program, They are working on ADN in Taylor at some point in very near future. Go to Main campus at Temple College, CTC in Killeen, problem there is the road between Georgetown and Killeen is dangerous, lots of wrecks. Blinn college in Brenham. Mary Hardin Baylor in Belton, BSN program. Texas State University in San Marcos is just now getting funding for BSN program in Round Rock at their RR campus. But won't start until 2009 or 2010. My advice is Temple College Taylor Campus, bridge LVN to RN at ACC, Temple or Excelsior online. That gets you in the biz so to speak. Temple is competitive but less so than ACC! Temple's pass rates are awesome. Check them out at the Texas board of nurse examiers. Schools list pass rates on NCLEX licensing exam. Hope that helps...
