Aussie trying to get US registration HELPPPPP

Published

Hi there,

Hoping someone can assist me in some way;

I am in the process of dealing with CGFNS and the BON for NJ which has so far been a 18m process.

Essentially the place i am at is that I have all my deficiencies apparently covered except clinical MH which they say i need.

They have made it clear that i have enough theory but not the clinical hours as a student.

Unfortunately I am stuck.....how have other people arranged to do hours??

I am currently in Adelaide South Australia but I ended up doing my courses for Mat/Paeds in Melb through Deakin but they cant help and I am hitting a wall with the Adelaide Unis as they are like "our minimum course is 12m" which doesnt appeal to me for obvious reasons

:-\

Why do they make it so hard lol - I have been a nurse for 14 years and have done my share of MH nursing but that doesnt count apparently which blows

Anyways, any suggestions or tips or personal experience would be fab

Thanks

Jayne

This is something we see common with Australia. Can you not ask your university if you could participate in clinical MH as a guest student?

So i finally got in to see the Post Grad person today who said i cannot do the clinical without being enrolled in the Grad Dip which is 12 months......12 months just for 80hrs of clinical.....this is getting so depressing and I almost feel like giving up
