World International

Gday everyone!

I work as a registered nurse here in Australia. I would like to know what are the steps I need to take if I want to work in California (post NClex exam)? Any tips would be highly appreciated.:nurse:

Has all the information about coming to the USA. Right now the USA is in retrogression ( waiting line).

Specializes in CTICU.

What is your experience?

There is a work visa specifically for Australian professionals to work in specialty occupations, called an E3 visa.

California is a bad state to try though - you need a SSN before you can get your license. You can't get the SSN until you're already here with the work visa. It's tough. You would also need a facility to hire you based on the E3 (it's employer dependent).

It's a tough time in the US to be trying to get a job, unless you have an in-demand specialty and experience, such as ICU.

May I ask you what's the reason you want to come to the U.S.?

hello there.thanks for all your responses. TO answer your questions, I have worked on a pediatric, neurology/oncology and day procedure unit. Yeah, I agree that atm the US is in retrogression, but I would just want to know my options in 2-3 yrs time.

There is no particular reason why I want to work in the US. I would just like to see the world and be able to work at the same time:wink2:

thanks heaps:smiletea2:
