Aureus Medical

Currently traveling with Aureus Medical. My contract is up in 2 1/2 weeks and they havent found me a job yet or seen if my contract is renewable...should I panic yet?? My recruter says no but I am pretty much on the verge of freaking out. Any advice or should I find a new company??

I did an assignment for them as well and got a bit frustrated too. It was hard dealing with a different recruiter for every possible location.

I would be a little freaked out too. Some of the state licenses take forever!

This is one of the agencies that I have crossed off my list. Two reasons: They back charged another nurse for housing when the apartment complex confirmed that her rent was paid through the end of the month. Secondly, they refuse to pay time and 1/2 after 8 hrs in CA when everyone else does. Besides the fact their pay isn 't the greatest.

Well...Aureus didnt end up finding me a job...but American mobile did....then my contract was cancelled after 14weeks...then they sent me to Richmond...and the hospital was horrible and the housing looked like the projects!! I refused to live there and AMH told me its either that or find my own housing....well after all that, the hospital decided they werent going to use the 3 new travelers they just hired....another cancelled contract!! I was out of work for a month with no paycheck due to American Mobile!! They were horrible to me, and because i didnt work, i got charged a month of housing. Plus American mobile doesnt supply much for your apartment, just the basics..oh and you need to bring your own TV...so beware of AMH, i have never heard anything good about them....SO where did i go next??? Back to Aureus Medical, to a wonderful hospital in Frederick, MD. The only dis-advantage to Aureus, is the company is small and dont have alot of East coast assignments...otherwise they are wonderful!

Sorry to hear about the difficult time you had :-( Are you still working with Aureus? If so, how are they now in 2011? And I'm also on the east coast. I'm thinking about assignments in DC, NY, or Miami. Have they gotten better with east coast contracts/ assignments? Thanks for any advice you can offer. I'm thinking of joining Aureus...

Im sorry your having trouble with this travel company. I would be nervous too. My recruiter and I start looking for assignments 4-5 weeks before the current one ends. I usually ask for an extension around 5 weeks, then start looking if they say no, just so i land the job i want versus taking anything because i have to..... I have 6 more weeks left at my current assignment and have the next one set up already. I am also signed up with 3 agencies just in case my current one cant find something.
