Augusta Univ-MSN/CNL- Fall 2019 Entry

Published

Hello Everyone! Is anyone here planning to apply to AU MSN/CNL program for Fall 2019? Also, is anyone here who is currently in the program? Too bad the forum doesnt let me PM yet to users. [h=1][/h]

So I checked my status today and it went from "Incomplete" to "Ready for Review". However, it's been in an "Incomplete" status for about two weeks. Anyone else experiencing this?

Mine has been in "Ready for Review" status since end of September

I am in the same situation. I got the email that my application was under review 3 weeks ago but my status always said "incomplete." It just changed to "ready for review."

How long did you study for the GRE before taking it? That's a good score!

Nope! Hopefully this week ? Does anyone know when the board recently met?

The Admission committee is currently working on the applications submitted

Really? I thought they would've sent out decisions by now seeing as how they met the week before last.

That's so weird!

Maybe you're right. The decisions are on transit. We just pray 4 a favourable outcomes.

They meet when there is a certain number of applied applications. Apparently, they are not doing as many interviews as last year.

Ok. That makes alot of sense. About three months to go just one person has gotten her situation settled. Hope as time unfolds we are going to read good feedbacks.

How long did it take for AU to receive your supplemental app? I did mine a wk ago and my app status still says "incomplete" and they haven't gotten it

{This is a reply to someone who asked how long studied, and just like her reply didn't link or quote my initial post, for some reason mine isn't referencing hers either even though I know I hit "reply"}

Hi, I don't mean to presume this was directed at me, but I was the last person to mention my score I think. I got a 322 (165 Verbal 96th Percentile, 157 Quant 65th Percentile) 4.0 AWA 59th Percentile

I studied for 2 months straight, every day, at least six hours a day. I did the Kaplan prep course, including the math foundations, and I took 13 practice exams (the 7 Kaplan provides, and found extras online plus the PowerPrep via ETS). I also used the ETS service that lets you write two practice essays that are graded by their computer.

In hindsight, the single factor that helped me most with the Verbal, was the strategies for recognizing the Reading Comp question type, and a corresponding strategy. For example, the inference type questions the answer must be true, and vague is better as the common trap is a word that makes it too extreme.

Also in hindsight, I wasted time preparing for the high difficulty math questions. I spent the most time on question types I found the hardest. Then on the actual test I got too many wrong of the type that were actually easier. Since it is an adaptive test, I never even saw those hard questions I prepared for, because I didn't do well enough on the first math section to access the hard questions on the second math section.

My writing score came back as a 4.0 (59th percentile). I think I could have done better if I had practiced writing more sooner, I only did a couple of practice essays towards the end. Also, they have you show up to the testing center 30 minutes early. I wish I hadn't started early. I got there 45 minutes early, and they let me start as soon as I was done with the checkin process. The result was during my two essays the door was opening and new people entering repeatedly. It was very distracting and resulted in me panicking a little as the clock was ticking down for my first essay and I had barely written anything. I did better for the second, and it was also quieter then.

Hope this is helpful to someone. I haven't submitted my application yet, I am still getting references together.
