So i opened my email today, and there it was.. my ATT.
I felt my heart drop because, i thought here we go again. I failed nclex the first time because all i did was practice questions (i think i did almost 3000) When my results came in the mail, i was near passing in all areas.
So this time i've decided to do hurst review (core content), kaplan Q-bank, and La Charity P/D/A.
I scheduled my test for august 17th and i can't wait to pass this test.
Who else is taking it in august? What review courses/books are you using? and any words of advice from people who passed it already!

hello Iammblessed2011! I'm also taking my exam on August 19. I'm using Saunders 5th edition, La charity, Nclex 3500 and HURST online... out of all my resources I'm loving Hurst.
Hoping and praying this can help me pass and have the letters R.N:nurse: next to my name...
I know how you feel.
Good luck to the both of us :)

Hey!!! I felt the same way when I received my ATT. But it just gave me that extra boost and mind frame that I have something to do and I better get to it (passing the NCLEX). Mine is scheduled for Aug 12th at 8 am. Nervous isn't even the word for what I am. I am using the Kaplan course materials. I took the two week class in June and now I'm pretty much on my own. I just finished today doing all 1200 Qbank questions and I also just finished my 5th question trainer test. I'm doing that while still TRYING to have a LIFE. lol. I plan on going over the Hurst materials that I have to and continue reviewing course content.
Most importantly, I am staying confident in what I KNOW I can do. We can do All things through Christ who strengthens us!!! Peace and Blessings!!!

Yes!! I think hurst is good for content review.
I also turned the nervousness of signing up for the test into something positive. i texted my boyfriend saying BON has finally email me to come get my License and that i told them i would stop by pearson to pick it up on the 17th. He laughed! I have soooo much faith this time around that i will pass. I have done alot differently from the first time i took the test. I just pray my results reflect the hard work.
Good luck to you, and God bless :)

Hi guys, my NCLEX is August 13th!! I don't know if it's that's lucky or unlucky lol. I am using Lacharity (just started actually), Hurst review (LOVE IT!!), and Kaplan class (took it and hated it).
I am still struggling with pharm and remembering some labs and baby VS.
I was on youtube and I found these videos from Drexel Nclex review, I know they are selling their videos, but their samples are pretty informative.

I am scheduled to take my NCLEX on the 5th of August....I am just doing Saunders NCLEX review....the CD has a ton of questions, so I am pretty much sticking with that....I am also going to order EXAM CRAM online today and hopefully get that next week...has anyone else used EXAM CRAM-PN? I am nervous because I haven't been in a classroom setting in 3 months (when I take the test) Just studying on my own....any input is helpful....thank you and good luck to all of us taking the test in August! :lvan:

Same here, pharm is one of my weakest point.
Someone who passed suggest i study by classification, know the most common drug in each classification, understand unusual signs and symptoms, and nursing implication. I hear kaplan has a medication chart.
Good luck to us

I personally didnt use saunders but i hear its a great book to review content. I also personally dont know anything about exam cram but i before you order it, you might want to read some threads about it, or any online review on it.
Good luck to us august takers :)

I take my test near the end of August. I am using the hurst review which by the way I love and I am reading the saunders comprehenision book and trying to do some kaplan questions and I am also doing the lacharity. I didn't have any of these resources when I took the test the first time. Im just having faith in God and hoping hard work does have good results for the second time around. Good luck to all the future NCLEX takers!
