Hi everyone,

I've been a lurker on allnurses for years, and finally am finishing up school to move forward for my Associates at Broward. Unfortunately, they have totally thrown a monkey wrench in the pre-req requirements, and now I'm going to have to wait until Jan 2015 possibly to get into that program!!!!! I have all pre res done except for the new math, CHM and new Micro pre-req. This is devastating. I'm wondering though, is it possible to take the Micro and Lab in the summer and somehow slip in for the August 2014 program, or am i bananas?

Ughhh why add new stuff when we've already got so much other stuff to do :( I'll call Nicole tomorrow

I see it on the paper but it says: Law and Rules (for Florida Nurses) and at the 9am orientation they didn't mention anything about that

Yeah they sure didnt. It would make sense that its for the LPNS but ya never know. Im gonna email her tomorrow about it

Everyone needs that new ceu. .. It is new. It isn't just for nurses. Even active students had to turn it in by August. It is about laws regulating nursing and licensing.

Youd think they woulda said something about it and they didnt. Great. I do actually see it now...Balls

Excuse me while I go hang myself... lol gosh they are so last minute with stuff

I attended the 1 pm orientation. She said it is a new certification that is going to be required from now on. We were also told that if you are missing micro or any of the classes to graduate with your associates it would be best to defer and do those and start in January. If any of those classes are missing we wont be able to do the level three of the program once we get there. The health forms have also been updated re PPD so we need to use the forms they will email to us to take to the doctor who will be doing the physical for us.

Which orientation did you attend?

Thank you for letting us know, they told us about everything except the new ceu.. Guess they forgot to mention that SMH! Another thing to add to my list of stress lol

What are the clases that we need to take for the first semester?

The first semester courses are:

NUR1020

NUR1020L

NUR1210

NUR1210L

HSC1149

MTB1370

I just paid for the class. Deadline to signup is today and you have to pay by tomorrow guys. HURRY. PLEASE. Oh and this totally sucks

For all saying that the new ceu wasn't mentioned in 9:00 am orientation it was.The dean J Dunne spoke about it when he talked about half an hour into the orientation.
