Learn what they want, and do it. This is a serious answer. You'll learn pretty quickly throughout the program that each instructor and mentor has their own idea of what is the "best" way to do something. I got reamed for talking to my patients too much, learning their past medical/social history, etc etc with one clinical instructor. My clinical instructor this semester LOVES it and praises me for it every chance she gets.
Learn to adapt. Best piece of advice I have for you.
