Curious, did have medical job background help you getting into the New Grad program? Unsure if I should try going through a CNA/PCT certification to help me in the long run at these particular hospitals. Thanks in advance.

They never really asked about it in my interview. They like whichever area you did your senior practicum in, for example, if you are applying for and want to work in ICU they like to see you did your senior practicum in an ICU
Your best bet is to do an externship after your first year of nursing school.

They did not seem to care about previous healthcare experience except in cases of externships in specialty areas. They were more interested in practicum placement. I had offers at both and had no previous healthcare exp.

Northside has purchased Gwinnett Medical Center..the acquisition should be completed by the end of this year..GMC is new grad friendly and offers new grads residences..you may want to look at there.
Piedmont has acquired Athens Regional Medical Center - Athens Regional is also new grad friendly..
Piedmont and Northside are both new grad friendly themselves also.
