If anyone was accepted into the FGCU BSN program for Fall 2010, I am looking for a roommate! I own the house, so you'd be paying rent to me =D It won't be expensive at all. I would just like to have a roommate that has the same rigorous course load that I do, so the house would be fairly quiet lol. Let me know! (I don't mean to advertise on here, but I figured it was the perfect place to look!) If you don't need a roommate and would like to chat about the program (cause I know we're all excited!!) that's fine too! Get back to me!

Congrats on your acceptance. I too was accepted for the fall at FGCU. Right now I live in Port Charlotte and will commute so I am not looking for a roomate. Instead, I wanted to see if you had heard anything (good or bad) about FGCU's program? I have heard mixed reviews and unfortuntely do not know any current students to ask for their opinions. I have applied to Edison as well and am waiting to hear from them (but I think I will get in) and want to make the best decision on where to go. It would be great if you had any info to share. Good luck with the roomate search.

I haven't heard that much about their program, I am just happy to be accepted somewhere! They only accepted about 50! I would say...don't go to Edison--they don't offer a BSN, only an AS. Then you would have to do an RN-BSN bridge program. If you got into a Bachelor's program (FGCU) I would definitely go there. If I'm wrong on the degree Edison offers, correct me, but I'm figuring it is or was a community college.

Thanks for the reply. I am also glad to be accepted somewhere. Edison does offer a BSN program but that is only available after you complete the associates program. I imagine that this would add at least a year or two of schooling...doesnt make much sense to me. Ive also looked at FGCU's recent NCLEX scores and they look pretty good - just as high or better than Edison. I am definitely leaning towards FGCU.

Yes, the BSN programs at state colleges/community colleges are about 3 extra semesters after you do the Associates of Science! That's no fun! I am glad you are leaning toward FGCU & congratulations on getting in. I hope we make it through these next two years, lol. Let me know if you decide on Gulf Coast & we will keep in contact because I know absolutely no one in Ft. Myers.

=D

Oh, and the NCLEX scores are a definite plus! Where did you find that info?

Here is the website. When you get there, scroll down to the quarterly results and select RN for whatever period you want to view. The totals for the last 3 quarters have exceeded Edison's.

Good luck to you as well,

I also got accepted into FGCU nursing program and need a roommate. I applied to the North Lake Village housing but I'm still not sure if I'm going to live there.

Could anyone suggest which would be the better choice between FGCU and Nova Southeastern University. I got accepted into both nursing programs, but I'm not sure which one I will attend. Nova is right next to home but it's way more expensive. Is the extra cost worth it?

a BSN is a BSN....it doesn't matter. It just depends if you really want to spend 30grand a year going to a private school. I don't really think its worth it, honestly.

Yeah, i was thinking the same thing and have pretty much decided on FGCU. Are you still looking for a roommate?

I actually already found someone, I'm sorry. No papers have been signed yet, so I will definitely keep you in mind if this doesn't work out!

Ok, no prob! Let me know if anything..

Do you know if we meet everyone in the program on the first day of class or do we have some sort of orientation??
