Hi suzanne,I just want to ask about the delay of the receiving the ATT as foreign RN,I sent my fingerprints and my english test 3 days ago, other documents were sent long time to the board from CGFNS,all I need to know the time and how long it takes to receive the ATT and within 75 days ?But I know some nurses who put a schedule after 6 months how come?may be because they will do it in the philipine?
I will do it in USA.
I am asking because my headnurse wants to know now so she can give me vacation to do the test..It 's so hard to take vacation when the year is already scheduled..
Thank u

It usually takes a month or two before any state will ge thru your application and issue approval for you to sit for the exam. It is not done immediately, and since you just sent the fingerprints in, they need to get clearance on those. You are looking at probably several months of waiting, without the fingerprints done, there is not much that they can do to speed things up.
The ATT actually comes from Pearson-Vue once they receive payment and approval from the state that you are taking the exam for.
Where the nurse is from has nothing to do with things, but when there file is completed. If you just sent in the fingerprints, it is going to take time to get that processed.
If you do not already have a visa for the US, you will not get one approved to be able to test in the US since there are centers now all over the world and quite a few that are much closer to you than the US.
Hi Suzanne, why i will not get a visa to do my test if I live in Lebanon, beirut,USA is the nearest one, just tell me i should go to the philippine??of course not..
I have been there before and they gave me a visa..

Due to the amount of abuse tourist visas, where people have used visa, told lies at POE and then changed status the US immigration is clamping down on issuing visas. I am not saying that you will abuse it but it has been happening hence clamping down. You may be lucky to get one but there again they may say that there are other options for you to look at.
Just because they gave you a visa in the past, does not mean that they will issue you one now, they are much stricter than they have been in the past with visas. And if you tell them the reason of why you wish to come to the US, it will automatically be denied. To take the NCLEX is not a viable answer to come here at the moment.
There are many countries that are much closer to you than flying to the US to test, one being Germany and the other being the UK. And these are just two examples of what is available out there and available. Germany is much closer and just a short plane flight from you, that is where the US has their main militarty hospitals for those injured in the wars.
Your initial post here was to find out when you would be able to get the ATT, that is going to be probably a couple of months from now as you just submitted your fingerprints, that is what will take the longest to get approved at this time of year since most offices are not going to be working with full staff over the next couple of weeks.
Once you have approval from Texas to be able to sit for the exam, you will have 90 days to get it completed in. I would not submit payment to Pearson-Vue until you know that your credentials have been approved by Texas as the ATT will expire if you do not test within those 90 days and you will have to repay the BON as well as the testing fee to Pearson-Vue as they do not grant extensions to the ATT.
You know why I am sure because my frienf did the same thing and when they show them the ATT they gave them directly the visa. And also in USA I have a place, and i will not worry to afford the fees...
Thank you.
That was just a fluke and they do not issue visas when someone presents with the ATT now. It is going to cost you much more to fly to the US than what a flight to Germany would cost. Much more than the $150 dollar difference in testing fees. Add in hotel costs, etc and the longer time that you will be in the US and even the flight over and you will be spending more money to come to the US, no way around that.
It also does not matter what your friend did, we are telling you what is happening now in the US, especially with the retrogression in place and no visas available to remain to work and people boasting in other threads that they are working illegally here now. Too many red flags and just because a visa gets issued to you does not mean that you will be permitted to enter the US, it states that right on the visa. Immmigration officials can refuse admission when you land, there is enough stresss just getting ready to test, add into it that you do not know for a fact that you will be allowed to enter here to test.
Thank you..
You are quite welcome. We are actually trying to make it cheaper and easier for you than flying across to another continent to test.
