ATL Summer 2022 Residency

Nurses New Nurse

Updated:   Published

HI! its early but I'm starting a thread for those graduating may/Summer of 2022 & are applying to atl metro hospitals ( Emory, Piedmont, Northside, CHOA,Grady & WellStar)  Emory, WellStar & CHOA have their applications open already. early bird always catches the worm (;  let's find roomies & those working on the same future floor as you!

Has anyone received any offers yet I have applied to Piedmont and Wellstar

I haven’t yet. But I’ve secured a position as a L&D nurse extern and I have an interview with Emory on the 22nd

That’s awesome I have only had one interview and that was a piedmont hospital for L&D but didn’t receive an offer and I haven’t had a interview for Wellstar but I am a internal applicant

What can of questions did they ask you with the Piedmont interview? I know the recruiter at Emory was saying that once the first round of applicants get interviewed, it’s usually a lot of spots that aren’t filled

It was very laid back and the person I interviewed with was very nice She asked me the typical  tell me about yourself, and why L&D and then I asked her questions and I hope that’s the case at wellstar because they are really dragging their feet with the process but I know that they will have their hiring expo sometime next month for external applicants

Hi everyone,

Anyone else interviewing at Emory in a couple of weeks? If so, what are the units that you are looking to apply?  I am pretty stoked and nervous. Anyone else heard from prior Cohort or know of someone that is in the system? Can you share what it's like working at Emory and how their nurse residency compared to other hospitals in the area such as Piedmont, Medstar, etc..

Thanks,

Hey,

I have an interview with Emory at the Decatur location for L&D on the 22nd. I wanted to interview with the midtown location but wasn’t able to secure a spot. I spoke to a recruiter and she was saying the sign up process are like the hunger games and to just keep posted because more positions at the location that I want will probably become available. I was also informed that Emory’s residency is a year long and I believe is the only accredited residency in Ga. Might want to double check that though.

I have an interview with Emory-Midtown on the 22nd for LD and Mother and Baby. I'm out of state so I don't know much about Emory and their residency. I've heard positive things about the Emory hospital system. I applied to Wellstar and Grady as well.

That's awesome! I have mine too on the 22nd but I applied in their ICUs. Did you see on their FAQs that they require all nurse residents to a 2-year contractual commitment?

All the nurse residencies I’ve applied to had 2 year contracts. I guess it’s the norm

Has anyone heard back from Piedmont Atlanta? I submitted my ap the second to last week of January and haven't heard a thing.

How did everyones Emory interviews go?
