I took VATI and I used it almost exclusively besides using PDA by LaCharity and the Saunders CD to practice SATA. I got a 95% chance to pass on my predictor and I passed first go on 4/30 with 77 questions. I felt like it prepared me very well and made me really think about where I was weak. They key is to read rationales, take notes, and read over your focused review. Another thing to keep in mind is be consistent with it! Best of luck to you! :)
My school uses ATI for everything. We did the live review for 3 days. Then I used the virtual ATI and did everything the tutor asked of me....it's a lot of work but worth it. I had taken a predictor during school and scored a 99% chance of passing on the first try. Then at the end of the VATI I took another predictor scoring a 98% chance of first time passing.
During school, we were required to do the whole Saunders book as well as the whole Prioritization, delegation, & assessment book.
My friend had access to Kaplan so I did trainers 1-3 and 7...scoring mid 60s.
I also listened to hurst lectures but only the one time.
I think the ATI tutor was really good at seeing my weaknesses and then drilling me on it by remediation & retesting.
Ultimately, I tested, Got 75 questions, and passed!
Hi! I took my NCLEX today; 75 questions with a good pop up. No one can walk feeling like they rocked it, but I wasn't crying when I left. I used VATI and loved it. There are quite a few practice quizzes you can work on along with "assignments" and case studies that get you thinking about how to apply the knowledge instead of just memorizing it. For each subsection there are quizzes where you are given access codes. These are nice cause its like mini NCLEX practice. I asked for extra practice in the med-surge section and my "coach" gave me access codes to like 8 more tests. I like it also because you get rationales for the answers, why something is right and why something is wrong. The predictor is great at giving you confidence to walk into the NCLEX test and know you know your stuff. You need to find what study method works for you, but I used this and iPad NCLEX question apps to study.
