I have to take the ATI test in the next couple weeks. We have to score a 71% or better on it to graduate. Apparently getting a 71% or better gives us a 90% chance of passing NCLEX. Has anyone taken this test recently and if so do you have any suggestions about how to study or what to focus on? Thanks for the help!

We just took it. Focus on prioritization. There was a lot of which pt do you see first type questions. Unfortunately not cut and dry and that requires you to know about the different systems and disease processes.. hard to study for that. there was a lot more mental health than I expected, Health promotion- especially safety type questions particularly pediatrics, know your normal lab values and drug classes and typical side effects. Only a few calculations, nothing terrible and I HATE math, just a few pharm. Good luck!
thanks so much! how did you do?? iv have heard that there is a lot of mental health. is it llike theraputic communication stuff or more like drugs and disorders? wish me luck! i take it a week from tomorrow!
I did well. got a 79.6 which translated to a 97% chance of passing. I am glad I did well because I don't want to take it again, but I am not putting too much stock in it because it's not really like the NCLEX in that it doesn't change questions based on what I answer. It was a mixed bag on the mental health. Really not a lot of meds but there was a little bit of therapeutic communication. Good Luck I am sure you will do fine!

We have to take the ATI at the end of each semester, I find there is a LOT of info we hadn't learned, which IMO is NOT a good thing!!!!

I took that in May. I had a 98% chance of passing my NCLEX (which I did pass). The test was ridiculous. I wouldn't even bother studying. I didn't study for it and knew nothing on it. It counted towards our grade, but my grade was so set in med surg that I didn't even care about it. I think my actual percentage on it was a 79%. While it's not that similar to the NCLEX, it's really similar in the fact that you're being tested on stuff that you have NO CLUE about!
