Any suggestions on how best to study for ATI? I will be taking my ATI exit exam in December and have heard nothing but horror stories and how many people are NOT passing it

well I am a lil confused... when u say ATI exit exam what exactly do u mean? Have you taken an ATI exam for each of your clinical courses (i.e. peds, OB, med-surg, pharm) or have you never taken a single ATI exam?

Either way, my school used HESI for exit..and I believe they are all the same. Study nclex books, and learn test-taking strategies...biggest help I can see.

We use the Hesi for exit also, but we take ATI exam every semester (Basics,Medsurg1,Obi,Pedi,Medsurg2,MentalHealth,Community).

Everyone at school no matter the semester always speaks on how horrible ppl do on the test, no one studies. I've scored at a Level 1 for everysemester until Obi/Pedi scored at a level 2.

If its your exit exam then I suggest you look over the material (the book and cd's) that they normally give at the begining of each semester to the students. Good luck

I don't think it's that bad. Just study your NCLEX books and always focus on the stem of the question. I think it's 60 questions long.

At our school, we took an ATI every time we finished pharm, m/s, ob, peds, psych, community, etc. then came the EXIT exam. IT WAS HORRIBLE :bluecry1: it was the worse test i have ever taken!!!! I studied ALL the time. I ended having to take the exit exam 3 times before I passed, and barely was able to go to pinning. I found the NCLEX to be much EASIER!!!! people think i am crazy, but the NCLEX adapts to you, ATI DOES NOT ADAPT TO YOU AT ALL :angryfire that is what made me so frustrated on the whole thing about "if you pass ATI, you will pass boards on the first try. That little talk is NOT true. I know people who passed the ATI exit exam on the first try, but failed boards on the first time. I ended up getting all 265 questions on boards, but i do not think that being pushed and pushed and pushed about doing well on the ATI did me any good, as a matter of fact, it made me think that i didn't know a d*mn thing!!!! And the fact that nothing that i was tested on in ATI was on my boards, the questions are TOTALLY DIFFERENT!!!

I am really sorry for being so negative, I just think that the whole ATI thing is ridiculous. If ayone has ever noticed, on practice tests, you can't get them all right, because there isn't a right answer for some of them. i typed them up once, and took to my instructor, and then took the test 4 times in front of him, and still didn't get the 2 questions right after using all 4 options...I just don't feel that it is a good indicator for NCLEX
