Hello!
I am a current post-bacc student at ASU. I am starting a thread for those applying to the 2018 program. Last year we had fantastic support from the 2016 class (and still have support from them today), so we are extending this help to the 2018 hopefuls as well! The feed for our class last year was an invaluable resource, so use this one to ask for advice or get answers to your"burning" questions (nursing school reference…you will see)!
Good luck to you all!
Hi everyone!
I am in the process of applying to the PBCNP this upcoming application cylce. I am wondering what everyone has as an advancement score? My G.P.A. for the prerequisites is 3.87. (Got a B in lab and in Micro). Have yet to take the TEAS, but what would be considered a good score altogether? Thanks everyone!
Like you, I still have to take the TEAS, but my GPA is a 3.79. I am sucking up a C in Chem back in 1995/1996 & 2003/2004 w/petition not to retake a 3rd time due to 7yr expiration.
Yes, I am an OLDER student. (Wish that was extra credit points, but glad there is a level playing field)
I ran previous years advancement scores: lowest for 2014 = 1.759, 2015 & 2016 = 1.76, average every cycle has been 1.85 or 1.86. Hope that helps give you an idea of where to aim on your TEAS. Good Luck on your TEAS.
Hiya! How's nursing school going overall... is the 60hrs a week schedule true?
I feel it is like a full time job. You aren't in class 8 hours a day, but between studying or days when you have clinicals, it's full time. I think the 60 hours is inflated, but prepare yourselves for weeks that are longer days and weeks that are not. I've still had time with my family, so I cannot complain.
Our last semester is starting on Thursday so right now things are going great (hello netflix...how I have missed you). They say it's going to be the worst semester, so we'll let you know. :)

So, I know several of us are in the process of the PBCNP application cycle. We can do this!
The big question beyond did we get everything completed and will our TEAS score be enough is the predicted size of the applicant pool for 2018 class.
Yesterday, I took the plunge with my adivsor and asked. Unfortunately, the answer did not clarify, but I am going to paste it here (and on the FB page):
"Advisors aren't given information as to how many students have applied and we're not tracking prospective Post-Bacc applicants (we're working on starting that system in 2018) so I honestly have no idea how many students will be applying this round."
