For people who are in the nursing program at ASU, what are your schedules like? I was told the one posted on ASU as an example was not accurate so I was curious about what schedules are like with clinicals and classes. Also, do you get to pick your class times or are they pre-assigned?

I graduated from ASU over a year ago, but I'm guessing that they still do things similarly. You do not pick your schedule. Each semester is predetermined for you. They assign you to a 10 person group and they tell you which course numbers to register for. Some days you will be in clinical (or lab) all day, other days you may only have a class or two. First semester I remember being very time demanding, as in long lab or class days. Or maybe it was just the culture shock that made the days seem long.

I am currently in my 3rd semester of the program. It is just like 2ndTime said. You are given a schedule at the beginning of each semester. I have never had any clinicals or classes on the weekend. Yes, your weekends are free, but you will fill them with study if you want to stay in the program. It is very intense.

Hello, good to hear from people who have been in the asu program. Did a lot of students have to retake semesters of just fail out? Did or do you work during the program, and if so how much. Trying to get a handle on difficulty level. I know any program is intense, but I still wonder about being able to work and do good in the program at the same time. Thx!
Each semester there were a few who did not pass and had to retake. I would advise against working. The program is intense and you will need time for study. A lot of those who failed also worked. The first semester is busy, the 2nd is CRAZY! So far, the 3rd is very busy but not quite as bad as the 2nd.
