If the CMA is administering medications, then, what does the nurse do regarding meds? Is the nurse the one that gives injections or administers narcartics? This is sounding more and more attractive!
At our facility we also have a secured Alzhiemers unit. About 15 residents live there, so the CMA is usually over there helping work the floor and doing their meds. Which I don't mind at all. She does occasionally come to the AL side and help and when she does that's when I only do injections and narcs. But again even without a CMA it's great. :wink2:

Hi
I am a new grad but have 25+ yrs in medicine. I have a second interview on Monday at an assisted living. I am so drawn to this type of environment.
Can a new grad make it here?
Dot
You can absoultely make it as a new grad. AL was my 1st job out of nursing school and I don't regret it for one minute. Good Luck with the interview and let us know what happens.
