ASSET test....has anyone taken it?

Published

Hello guys. Im currently preparing to apply to the LPN program. Im in Arkansas and here you also have to take the ASSET test. Has anyone ever taken it? And if so what should i expect from it? Thanks in advance for your help.

If this is the same ASSET as I had to take for my college then yes! It is a placement test for your classes. Basically it asses if you have the "basic" college level math and reading comprehension test scores so that you will be able to do well in your classes. If your scores aren't high enough, sometimes they recomend extra tutoring or what not. At least that's how it is here.

Hopefully that helps!

Your advice helped alot, THANKS!!!!! Im taking the ASSET test either Tuesday or the 1st Tuesday in May. The LPN program that im applying to uses both the NET and ASSET scores in determining who gets in the program. I just took my NET test yesterday and i made a 76 cumulative score im kinda bummed about that) but the program that im applying to requires that u make at least a 60 cumulative score. The lady administering the test said that i did well and the paper with my results on it said i did 'superior' i guess i was just expecting more out of myself. With that said do u think i should go ahead and take the Asset test this coming Tuesday while the stuff from the NET test is still fresh in my mind or do u think i should take a break from it all and wait until May? Are the questions on the ASSET similar to the questions on the NET?

I am not sure what the NET test is. I didn't have that one here in WA state... yet anyway. But it seems to me, that getting all the "testing" done while it is fresh seems like a good plan to me!

Good Luck!

What school are you going to? Those requirements sound just like the one I am applying to this Jan.

Im going to arkansas state. i actually have taken both the net and the asset and i found the asset to be harder than the net. but the good news is that i got almost perfect scores on the asset. What school are u going to?

I am going to arkansas state as well, but at the technical center either in newport or marked tree or jonesboro.

There are 2 versions one is short and tests overall ability in math, geometry, english, grammar, history, even geography. It is scored overall so basically skip and go on to the next if you don't know the answer. The more you answer right, the better. So the score is not broken down into subjects. Then there is the one categorized and on that one you do need to score a passing grade on each subject. Good Luck.

When i got my scores from the ASSET it was a seperate score for verbal ability, math, and english
