ASN/ADN Registered Nursing

Published

It looks like I will be attending an Associates Program in the Fall. Which hospitals in the Medical Center will hire Associate degree level Nurses? I ask because I know some hospitals in specific require a BSN for entry level nurses.

Thanks,

Adrian

Thanks ventjock for your reply. I must have worded my question wrong. I have a BA in a non health related field and plan to get my RN associates through Excelsior. From what I read here that should be enough but will employers pay me for having a BA?

Highly doubtful (but if you find a hospital that does, let me know!). Whether you are a BSN or ADN (or ADN w/ a BA), hospitals, around here at least, pretty much pay you according to your years of nursing experience, not according to your degree. All of the hospitals I have looked at have a standard base rate that they pay all new grad nurses. I will have both a B.A. and a B.S. when I graduate in a few months, and that doesn't matter at all in terms of getting paid. I will make what every other new nurse makes.
