Cna hopeful(now cna) needs to ask any FL certified CNA's, about CEU online classes. I am very clueless as to what exactly CEU class are. One of my classmates had said that she has to do 9 CEU's before her license expires, the end of this year. First off, she just got her license in June-why does it expire already? I just got my license on the 8th of this month and it doesn't expire, until 12-31-2013. After her telling me I had to do the CEU classes, before I could ask her for more info, she had to go (as this was a phone conversation). I tried calling her and my other classmates for info and I can't reach anybody. I also email my instructor and her answer was of no-help to me. I am hoping one of you FL CNA's out there can help me out. Heres my questions ( and note that I AM VERY computer illiterate-so you may have to give me a "step-by-step" on how to find anything) 1. How am I supposed to know, if I even have to take CEU classes? Does the FDOH send me a letter in the mail? 2. What website do I go to to find out about CEU's? 3. What the hell is a "CEU". 4. Once I'm on that website, what do I click on? Thank you (ahead of time) if anyone replies with some answers. And I'm only asking the FL cna's, because I heard FL is the only state, that has to do this....Is that true?? Thanks Guys' (and Gals'). Appreciate any and all advice!!!!!

An answer would be very greatly appreciated as I don't know what's going on with these either! I just got reciprocity from Idaho to Florida and CEU is foreign to me. I am having a hard time finding a job here in Florida, could this be a reason?

I think finding a job here in FL, is hard for everyone. However, I received my license Sept. 11 and I had my first cna interview, yesterday, and I already started working today......Sounds great, but I think I jumped the gun with this job. It's $11 an hr. Which is ALOT MORE than most cna jobs here in FL. But there's a lot of cons with that pro. Anyway, I can't believe not ONE PERSON (cna-FL) has replied to my question. I can't find anyone to help me out. And when I call the DOH, to ask them, they are just plain rude and put me on hold, for hours. If I find out any info on the CEU(continuing education unit) classes, I'll keep you posted and hopefully, you do the same for me. Good luck job hunting!!!!

Thank you! I got a job right away in Idaho, but here it's just not working! If I find anything out I'll keep you posted :)

Hi!..those are continuing education certifications/units ..for whatever place that you are applying find out first what specific certs they want you to have, such Alzheimer's, domestic violence, OSHA, etc..i got them from ceufast.com--its very easy just click on NEW REGISTER--then after filling out your info then click on classes--which you will get a very long list of courses..good luck!!
