Just completed first semester of nursing school and local hospital recruiter said they have a Nurse Tech II position in the ER that I should apply for.
Done w/ application except for "salary expected" portion. What do nurse techs normally make(louisiana if location makes a difference) because Im clueless?
I have HCP BLS, just finished 1st clinical ADN semester, and have certification(not licensure) as EMT-Basic.

You could call HR and see what the range is for that position. Or just leave it blank. They're going to pay whatever they pay for that particular job, I would think.
I did ask HR and she say they couldnt say until the job was formally offered. She said that it was based on individual and that I should put what I think is acceptable for the position(except that Im not sure.....thinking 10/hourly ????)

Write "Negotiable" in the blank. That's what I always did.

Is this something SPECIFICALLY for nursing students or more of a CNA type position?
In my area a nurse tech is aka nurse intern meaning it's strictly nursing students and the pay range is 12-15/hr. I would maybe just put negotiable or per scale or something like that. Would really need to know more about the job.

Yea i would guess 12-15 an hour, just put what you think is accurate and they will make the necessary alterations.

Definitely don't put $10! Our ER techs average $18/hr after differentials.
