Artful nursing interventions

I am writing a paper on The art of nursing and I have been trying to figure out what artful nursing interventions are? Artful nursing interventions for patient with Diabetes II and hypertension? what is the difference between science of nursing intervention and artful intervention?

I was told looooonng ago (yep, I'm old) that the Art of Nursing included anything that you cannot study under a microscope. So, this includes nursing interventions to support the emotional / spiritual needs of the patient and family. Schmaltzy, right? But nurses have been 'holistic' for much longer than that word has been around..... we are concerned with Body, Mind & Spirit.

Since nursing is a science and an art, any nursing artfulness must be informed by scientific principles. If you google "nurse inventions" or "invention by nurse" or "nurse inventor" you'll find all sorts of things to get you thinking.
