Army Nurse ROTC No ANCP 2012 or 2013

Published

Well I just finished being admitted into the ROTC program at one of my surrounding schools since my school does not offer it. Non-scholarship since I am 29 years old and I am also prior service with GI Bill so I did not really need the scholarship. My question is, are there any other nurses or future nurses that did ROTC as well as worked full time? I have a family so I would like to continue to work. There is no ANCP program for the army for 2012 or 2013 so this was the best way for me to go active duty again. If anyone has any advice on managing working, nursing school and ROTC please let me know!? If I need to quit working I will but I will have to move back in my mom's house (oh no lol). Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I'm in Air Force ROTC and its pretty demanding because i have no prior experience withe the military, so i'm starting from scratch pretty much. Since you have prior experience you shouldnt have to worry about learning drill and customs and proper military lingo, just the physical training part which i'm sure you can handle.

Thanks I just hope I can manage working and ROTC coupled with nursing school

I know this post is really old but how did it work out?. I am also prior service and am looking into ROTC. I'm am a single mom and my only option would be reserves.

The regular Air Force takes single parents for commissioning with a family care plan in place. I have many friends in the Nurse Corps who are single moms and who were single moms at commissioning.
