Army Nurse Corps Loan Repayment

Hello guys/gals,

This is my first time posting on the site. I must say, nurses like, Pixie RN, have inspired me for years! I have visited this wesbite frequently and it has helped me become a better RN.

My question is about the Army Nurse Corps. I am currently working with my recruiter and was told that there is currently no Loan Repayment or sign on bonuses. Is this true? I was always taught to question your recruiter and get second opinions. Either way I am joining and will continue to improve my 2 mile run in preperation for APFT.

Thanks in advance.

Holy stool, they disqualified you for leg tattoos? I have one on the front of my shin maybe a few inches above the pedal pulse area that can be covered by crew socks, does that mean I have no hope too? It's small.

You can Google the regulations. You should be fine.

You will be fine. The regulation is it can not be more than 1/4 of your leg. Amongst my 5 tattoos on my right leg, they definitely cover more than 25 percent of my leg. They do have their regulations online. Once again, this is for the Air Force. I am unsure of the Navy/Marine regulations. The Army recruiter stated my tattoos are not grounds for dq.

And the Army just changed it back to where your tattoos are acceptable. :) It was a huge pain - though all my tattoos were included on a waiver when I commissioned, the last time I went for height/weight we tattooed people also had to create a memo detailing every single tattoo below the knees and below the elbows, then have them photographed. The entire thing was uploaded into my permanent record. Can you imagine, with all the tattooed soldiers in the Army, what a huge waste of time and effort this was? The funny thing was that the photos were black and white, which was idiotic. Lol.

The Navy is just as strict as the Air Force when it comes to tattoos. I was unacceptable to anyone but the Army, but that was where I wanted to be anyway.
