Hey everybody, I'm starting a thread here for those applying to the Army Nurse Corps in FY2013. I figure this might be a good place to get to know other future nurse corps officers and a place for the veterans of the ANC to pass on some advice.
Share your story and hopefully we will meet down in San Antonio this Winter/spring of 2013
Ill start with my story,
I am a 28 y/o critical care nurse with 2 years experience in a level 2 trauma center in Virignia. I passed MEPS at Ft. Eustis and have submitted security packet, letters of reference and letter of intent.
I am applying to the October review board for Active Duty Army Nurse Corps for the 66H8A(critical care) and 66T(trauma) programs( I am not sure if they are still running this one, but you don't get what you don't ask for).
I am happily married with a baby on the way, my wife is 100% behind a move the Army and I feel blessed to have her love and support.
The road to the Army has been a long one with a degree in Biology, stint as a drug rep and return for an Accelerated BSN.
I love being a nurse and love working in critical care. I hope to serve my country in uniform treating service members & their families at home and in forward deployed units.
I want to be an critical care nurse and officer in the U.S. Army and I hope that I will get to meet all of you in uniform at BOLC, at MEDDAC, CSH or FST in CONUS or OCONUS.
Here's to all us achieving our dreams of becoming Army Nurses!
HOOOOOOAH!
Ok so I spoke with the folks from Mr. Stubeta's office today (where the memo with names will be published) and was told the board absolutely took place and that the results will probably be out on monday, as all selectees are waiting to be scrolled. As with everything in the Army black and white means everything and this was via phone but I don't want you all stressing all week as I know it is draining. The board results are done but being kept close to the chest as they probably don't want to have to throw out the results so it is understandable. Again good luck to all and may you all have a great holiday.
Hmmm. I thought they waited to scroll to see if all commissions were accepted. Oh well next monday it is.
I agree I was under the same impression. I thought they would at least courtesy copy the accepted personnel but who knows. Like I said we all work in the same complex but the Soldiers who work in the office next door to me need an ID swipe card to get into where I work. Everything is kept very close to the chest up here, and for good reason LoL. But again good luck to everyone.

Yeah i did it through MSG Cuellar. He has PCsed to states already but i am keeping in touch with CPT Mcdowell and SFC Buentipo. I have been calling them like every working day. No i don;t work in LRMC. I work in Stuttgart. Where r u located? CPT Mcdowell assured me today that we should hear back anytime this week. I am still hopeful that we will hear something this week.
