Each service has its pros and cons. You need to speak with a healthcare recruiter to see which one would be the best fit for you. With the drawdown of the services going ROTC is a good choice to ensure that you have a spot once you graduate. I would start the process right away since spots are limited. Good luck.

I am currently a sophmore in college planning to transfer to a 4 year university. I am planning on applying for their nursing program. I have contemplated joining the Army Nurse Corps or the Air Force Nurse Corps, the school I will hopefully be attending offers ROTC programs for both of those. My family is very military based and I like the idea of working for the military. I have always liked the thought of Trauma surgery, but decided nursing was where my life was taking me. I am a young female adult and was wondering if anyone could give me any input on either of the Nurse Corps. I have no experience in the military and dont know which way to go or if I should just stay a civilian and hope for finding a good nursing career post graduation. Does anyone have any experience in the Nurse Corps? I would love to hear input of what its like and where they deploy.
Thank you for taking the time to help!
