Spring 2018 traditional selection

U.S.A. Arizona

Hi,

I am currently on the waitlist and submitted my application in January. I was wondering if anyone has been accepted to any schools for the traditional part and approximately how long they waited.

For all Maricopa schools, I'm just curious.

Last I heard, they made it to approximately mid to late May 2016. Placement is not officially complete yet, so they make it just a little farther.

Hmmm....well for the traditional ADN, the last I heard when I asked in summer this year there was a 2 year wait list from the date of submission. Sorry I don't have better news. If you're applying for the CEP, that's different. Have you considered CEP?

I have already completed all of the classes for CEP, if I am not selected for this round of traditional picks I was going to submit my application for it. I know I haven't been waiting that long, I just wasn't sure where they are at as far as time stamps. Ya know?

Of course it's your call, but if you have all the CEP classes done, I would submit that application too - what have you got to lose????

Good luck!

I submitted for traditional placement May 2017 , haven't heard anything.

I just finished the Nursing program through SCC in August. From my experience, it was 1-2 years wait for traditional ADN program and one semester for CEP program. I applied for the CEP program back in May, 2015 and got accepted to start in January 2016. If you have all the pre reqs for CEP, I would definitely go that route. It's a little more challenging because you're taking an extra online class on top of the traditional nursing classes, but in the long run it's totally going to be worth it. I just got hired, and it seemed like hospitals were preferring people with BSN degrees over ADN.

From my understanding the wait list is currently at about 2 years for each college. Some of the colleges no longer offer the ADN degree, they have transitioned to 100% CEP (BSN degree), and the rest only take a % of ADN students with a % of CEP students.

The reason that is important is that it means everyone who would normally apply for the ADN degrees are now limited to those colleges that offer it, and on top of that the amount of seats available is limited again because they are spread between ADN and CEP students. In other words - there are now less seats available for ADN students.

Best bet is to call the nursing advisor and ask for a ball-park wait time. I suspect it will be around 24 months, but you never know, you could get lucky!

I'm with Yuweezy though - if you have the CEP classes, apply for that - the wait time is shorter usually, and if you don't get in, you're still on the wait list for the ADN!
