Maricopa CEP Spring 2019

U.S.A. Arizona

Hey everyone! I see there isn't a spring 2019 forum yet so I thought I'd make one for all that have applied. What schools did you guys apply to and with how many points? :) wishing good luck to everyone! I applied to CGCC/ASU with 20 points

I am not doing ASU, but I think it's the same for everyone: There's a summer break from the Nursing program, but you will take your University classes online during the summer. I hope this helps!

Yes it does thank you!!!

I got in GCC/ASU Weekend cohort. I'm so excited!

I turned in my application on May 29th but didn't get email for application being received until June 12th. I had 18 points and have not gotten an acceptance email yet. I'm worried my advisor accidentally did not submit my application until the 12th. Did anyone else get their application acceptance email 2 weeks after submitting your application?

I know I may not get accepted even if it did get in on time. I'm just a nervous wreck and stressing out over what I'm doing next semester.

I received my acceptance letter yesterday, SCC/ASU!!!

I also had a two week delay from when I turned in my application. @Mhughesaz

Thanks. I can at least breath easy over that. Now I'll just keep biting my nails while I await any news about being accepted or not. Lol

So I was wondering if anyone knew the answer to this, I have to take my two classes for ASU in fall, so I'll start the nursing program in January 2019. Is anyone aware if there is summer break like normal or does the program go through summer as if it's a semester??

Hi -

You'll start with your online classes in the fall with whichever university you are with. Spring semester with the college begins in January, sometime around the middle and runs through May. The community college part of your degree will now break for the summer. However, classes will continue online through the summer with your university.

Which classes you take online will be based on your personal situation and how many classes you were able to transfer in. There is a general flow that all students follow, but obviously if you don't need a particular class you can do something else during that time.

After summer, the college classes will resume sometime in August, and you will still be taking online classes. Each University has its own particular flow-chart/structure so there may be slight differences, but for the most part each university has set up their online classes to allow you to finish either about the same time as the community college or shortly thereafter.

Hi everyone!! So great that their is a thread started for this! I received my acceptance to GCC/NAU on June 18. I don't know which cohort yet; I have to send in my request. How do you know what your number was? I have no idea what mine was. Good luck everyone and maybe I'll see some of you around!

The way it works with all the universities is this: if you meet the minimum required grades for the uni (which you must have in order to submit your application in the first place) then a place with them is assured on condition that you are accepted into the community college.

In other words, it is the community college that decides whether you get a place or not; if you do, then you are guaranteed a place with the university you chose (assuming you meet all their requirements, and the nursing advisor would have checked for that (or should have checked for that) when you submitted your application).

Some Universities send out acceptance emails and/or letters, some don't. Regardless, if you get an email that conforms you have a place with the community college, then you can be assured that you are in at the university also.
