How far in advance is orientation?

U.S.A. Arizona

Hi, I was wondering how long before the start of block I classes is the orientation? (assuming there is one). I don't have a specific semester in mind, just wondering in general.

Thanks!

Hi there!

Well, when I started block 1, the orientation was like the week before classes started.

For block 2, i think we had a med-surg orientation the day of the first class.

Now, for block 3, our orientation will be on the start day of classes as well.

This is from the MCC-Boswell location.

Thanks for reply. How/when do the new students (Block 1) find out what their schedule is, what books are needed, what immunizations are needed, etc, etc, etc?

Hi there...

Usually, before the new block starts, they will give you all the paperwork (either via email, mail, or the school website, which in my case my school has a website.)

http://nursing.maricopa.edu/CurrentStudents.php

thats a website for current students...it'll give you the healthcare documentation checklist and such, and whatever else you need to really start the program. Once you get accepted, they'll tell you you need to have this and this...and this site will tell you what you need.

I hope this helps...

The reason I'm asking is that I'm actually moving to Phoenix from another state and was wondering how far in advance I would need to be there.

Thanks!

Usually, the orientation starts one week before the class starts...depending on the school. But so far, It has been that. You might want to call the school you are interested in applying to and ask them when orientations start. That would be your best bet as to when you should be here. Good Luck!
