Are Screws Routinely Used In Total Hip Replacement

i haven't done too many of them, but no, they are not necessarily used. depends on how fixation is achieved (cement, or no), whether or not it is for a fracture or cartilage issues. also depends on the system used (zimmer, etc.). why do you ask?

We rarely use screws.

I have just seen the ball and socket appliances used with cement.
