There are 'legit' AHA online courses, but the 'Part 2' consists of a physical demonstration via a simulation manikin. My organization has used this technology for some years. FWIW, our folks say this is much more difficult than a human instructor. We only accept AHA training.

American Medical Association and ILCOR help create some of the data and review processes that shape AHA guidelines. From there, each BLS trainer has to make sure their training conforms to the AHA guidelines. AHA is one of the oldest and most well known, but not the only provider. It's ultimately up to the hospital or whatever setting you plan on applying to that say yay or nay to your certification.

Not all of them are 100% online. There are some that make you take the didactic part online and from there you can either go to an actual person or have them sent to you for the skills testing. This is especially good for someone getting their initial certification, but needs the flexibility of an online class. For someone who has been working and regularly using BLS or ACLS on the job, a 100% online class might be okay. New guidelines are coming out every 5 years and there is still the chance to learn something new.

Have you taken a class yet? If so, how did it go? Also, the new guidelines are coming out now, so it may be good to take a look at the new algorithm cards: https://www.acls.net/aclsalg.htm
