Hello,

Are Neurotic / Mental Diseases different subjects in college?

Florida Nursing Board said I am short in theory and clinical hours for Neurotic.

I graduated from nursing program outside of US.

My transcript was evaluated for Neurotic/Mental Diseases as 12/18 Theory and 20/42 Practice hours.

Thank you.

Specializes in Adult Oncology.

Maybe they mean neurology? Diseases of the brain and CNS? You need to clarify with the board.

No, it was translated as Neurotic.

I'm relieved to hear it was a translation, because the term "neurotic" hasn't been used in the US for many years.

I suspect that the original version would be "psychiatric/mental illness."

Of course, you have to clarify with the FL BON directly, but I'm guessing what they mean is that they require a minimum of 18 hours of theory (classroom/lecture) and 42 hours of clinical, but you only have 12 hours of theory and 20 hours of clinical.

How about Nervous/Mental illness translation?

Is anybody knows what are requirements for Florida Nursing Board by subjects and Theory/Clinical hours for RN license?

Sure, it could be "nervous" -- that language is also v. outdated, but the BON may not have updated its language in a long time.

Your best bet, I would think, is to communicate with the Florida BON directly -- they have all the information you need.
