good day! i've read a lot of comments regarding this training center, but mostly on whether or not it is recognized/accepted in the US.
I would just like to know if trainings taken at NC-CLEX such as BLS, ACLS, ECG are accepted/recognized by hospitals HERE in the Philippines.
Because I know someone who has been attending a lot of those NC-CLEX trainings (he/she is like collecting those IDs and certificates from NC-CLEX trainings).. and I wouldn't want to be wasting my money on trainings that would not be recognized by hospitals when i apply here.
another question:
How beneficial is it to be a member of specialty nursing organizations here in the Philippines? Is it worth it?
Thank you!

I also enrolled there at NC-CLEX long time ago and I would say it didn't helped me at all. If you want to have a good resume to go abroad, I would suggest to have loads of nursing work experience particularly in good hospitals. Those hospitals also offer trainings for their employees and some of them are free of charge that you could add to your resume.
In fairness to NC-CLEX, that might be useful if you didn't work for a long time as a nurse and you want to freshen your knowledge in a hospital setting.
You can have loads of certificates from them but with no hospital experience, that would just be a piece of crap. Employers abroad do not even recognize and doesn't even know what NC-CLEX is.

There were already threads concerning about NC-CLEX, I know you've read about them.
If I were to train for something that I'll use for the hospitals here, I might as well go to trainings recognized by ANSAP, PNA, Red Cross... I'm a bit wary about NC-CLEX trainings though - maybe you should check it out if it's recognized by PNA or ANSAP.

suzanne mentioned that NC-CLEX is not recognized in US so why still take it. its quite expensive compared to local trainings. I suggest you attend trainings/seminars offered by pna, ccnapi, ansap, red cross, etc.
Thank you for your replies. I really appreciate it.

The trainings that are done in the Philippines are not recognized by most facilities in the US. Even if it were a class done by the AHA, most facilities are going to require that you take the course again here since you use different medications in your country that we do here and some with other names.
It is not a point of even renewing it, but the fact that most employers will not let you begin to work without being issued in the US for this very reason. Sure, it can be renewed here, but the fact remains that you are going to have to produce an American card to be able to have it accepted by the employer.
They are failing to tell you that.

Same way that all of the other trainings that are done there are not accepted in the US; any facility will put you thru their own training programs that are required before you will be starting a job here. Even if you complete a dialysis training program, if you do not work in that field immediately afterwards, then it is not going to count for anything over here.

Recognized or not, my friend and I went to some trainings in NC-CLEX ... and when he went to the US last year...he told me that the training we had Re: US style documentation and assessments helped him alot--not as credentials, BUT in application since it's so diffrent than how we do it here in the Phil.
Just a thought.

I might also add to the cautions and pitfalls of getting "US STYLE" training in a foreign country is that if you ever get hired on by an employer, foreign or otherwise, they often run you through all of the certification courses again. This is usually mandated through their own hiring process and corporate offices HR office. Another reason not to waste your money unless SPECIFICALLY REQUESTED by your prospective employer. Not to mention that comparatively, the costs associated with this type of training is far less in most developed countries. The reason they do it like this is because they cannot afford to "take someone's word for it" in the event that a lawsuit happens, for example.
If you have the extra time and money, why not I guess? I sure don't.
thank you for your replies.
i took the trainings at the philippine heart center anyway (eventhough i had to go there at 4am just to get a slot).
i just want to reiterate that this thread is about whether or not NC-CLEX trainings are accepted/recognized by hospitals HERE IN THE PHILIPPINES. because some of you think that i want to get those trainings to apply in the US. i am very well aware that hospitals in the US conduct a separate training to their employees.
anyway, it doesn't matter now. caycay's right. a nurse may have all these trainings, but with no work, it's not put to good use.
