Are most ABSN program courses graded on a A/B/C/D/F scale or Pass/No Pass?

How are most ABSN program courses graded?

1. A/B/C/D/F scale

2. Pass/No Pass

3. Pass/No Pass/Honors

4. Other

I am planning to apply to CRNA school or NP school after completing a ABSN program so I would like to know how the classes of most ABSN programs are graded.

Thank you!

ABSN programs allow you to receive credit for your first degree which are not counted in your nursing GPA. They take classes just like the traditional nursing students and are graded the same, A-F

Sorry, your post is confusing. I am not sure what you mean. But you say that all ABSN program nursing classes are graded on an A/B/C/D/F scale? Is it easy to get straight A's in ABSN programs if you had a 4.0 in science courses from a top university?

Can other people confirm/disconfirm this? I am wondering if most ABSN program courses are graded on a A/B/C/D/F scale, Pass/Fail, or some other scale.

All the pre-req classes and nursing classes will be graded A-F and your GPA is calculated from those classes. The credits they accepted from your first degree will not be used in calculating your BSN GPA.

Okay got it. Thank you. How hard is it to get straight A's in ABSN programs compared to A's in science classes at a top U.S. university? Can most ABSN nursing get straight A's with studying?

This is going to be highly variable based on your program, your individual instructors, your comfort level with the material, existing study skills, time to study, and aptitude for learning how to "think like a nurse".

My ABSN program graded on a A/B/C scale (everything below C was failing, and could result in academic probation and or dismissal from the program). The incoming average gpa of students in my cohort was a 3.85. I know many of my classmates had always been 4.0 students and found they had to work harder for A's in this program, and that some received Bs for the first time ever. That being said, no one failed out in my program, and everyone passed the NCLEX and got jobs. I was a solid B+ student my first time through college, and due to improved study habits/motivation was a solid A/B student in my ABSN program. I graduated with an A- average.
