APU ELM Spring 2015

Published

So the deadline for Azusa Pacific's ELM program is just a couple days away! :nailbiting:

Any other fellow applicants out there? I was wondering if the March 1st deadline is strictly for a Spring 2015 start date, or if there's any possibility of an earlier start? January of next year just seems soooo far away.

Has anyone heard anything else from the school regarding enrollment, deposit, etc...I was expecting a letter from the nursing department a week ago :/

I got a letter about a $1000 deposit due in a month...or two $500 payments :S

Also states that school starts on Jan. 12, but not much other than that

I got the same letter. States that you have 30 days after receiving the letter to pay a $1000 deposit. I've asked previous cohorts and they say that more information will come out as we approach the start date. Orientation I'm guessing will be mid fall.

Hi guys, congrats to all of you! :)

I got accepted at the SD campus for Summer 2015 but I applied for Spring 2015. Does this I am waitlisted for Spring 2015? For those who are accepted for Summer 2015, do you guys know how close you are to the spring 2015 cohort in case a spot opens up?

I asked them but they said only about 1-2 spaces open each semester and only 1-2 students move up a semester earlier?

Pursue, do you happen to know how many spots opened up or if you were the first person they asked to fill that open spot?

Thank you! :)

Hi Tina N.,

I am planning to turn in my application for Summer 2015 sometime this week. Did they say anything about the Summer 2015 cohort, whether it is filled up?

Also, may I ask how your advising session went and what kind of questions they will ask? I would really appreciate your help :)

Hey Tiana. I don't know if I was first or how many move up. I do think being close to done with all your prerequisites helps your chances, so that might be something to shoot for. Congrats on being accepted because that's no small feat.

@Seebella: No, they did not tell me anything about the summer cohort but I doubt that it is full since applications are still going for it. My advising session was okay, like all the others, they went over my entire application, my pre reqs and everything. So mostly for me it was that mixed with interview (I.e. why nursing, what motivates you etc). The questions were really general questions but regardless, be sure to practice them well. As you should know, they do have you complete a writing assignment when you come in, then you will be taken into your interview from there. Hope this helps and best of luck with your application. Let's be classmates! :)

@Pursue: Thank you for sharing your thoughts! I believe each student has a "ranking" like a waitlist and they slowly move down the list if spaces open up. But anyways, may I please ask what is the time duration between you knowing that you got accepted to the time where APU offered you a spot in spring? Thank you! :)

@tiana sure! I actually had to look back at my posts to get the exact dates. Looks like I received official acceptance on May 7th (the unofficial "mysterious" email came on the 4th I believe) for summer. I then got a call a week later on May 15th for a spring spot. Hope that helps. Goodluck

Dear pursue,

Thank you for your reply! I was just curious on how "fast spots can open up" but that's probably a luck of the draw thing.

Regardless, congratualations on your acceptance! :) I'll be starting in Summer as of right now so hope to see you around! :)

I was also expecting a letter. I had to contact the program admin for my campus to get any information on deposit. I dont know if its because i dont start for a year but i didnt want to loose my spot so i had to contact them!

Hello,

For all those that will start January 2015 at the main campus, I wanted to advise you that I have been offered an earlier cohort (fall 2014). Thank you!
