APU EENAP Summer 2011

U.S.A. California

Published

Hi Everyone,

So I received this email telling me I was accepted to APU's EENAP Summer 2011 class.

But this was 2 weeks ago and I cant get a hold of anyone there.

If you got in as well for this term, do you have any info on this?

Thank you!!!

Once you snet in your transcripts and letters of rec. How long until you were notified of acceptance?

Vartan -- so we will be in the same cohort! :)

so this week huh? I cant wait to hear about Orientation. It's ALMOST May (haha... not really) and I still dont know what the plan is.

The Fin Aid they offered me for Summer was enough to cover tuition ... hopefully this will stay for the 2011-2012 year.

@ Taylo040: for me it took about 4 months before I heard back for an interview... and then another 2 months before I heard I was accepted for Summer '11.

YAY! We got the Orientation Info... May 2 and 3. I wonder why they wait until a week before we start school... but oh well. I cant wait!!!

yah just got it too. the orientation flyer info seems weird when it addresses the location. i guess we have 18 students total in our cohort.

hahaha... that Flyer is confusing!!!

It says the 5th... then it says May 2-3... AND WHERE?

I am guessing on the 2nd it's at Azusa and on the 3rd in San Bernardino...?

Well if anyone has already emailed her for clarification... Please post :)

yah im going to email her later next week. kind of early to though for now. for some reason, im loving the wine colored scrubs.

Did anyone accepted to the SD Summer 2011 cohort receive any info about orientation? I was told we'd get something this week, but I haven't gotten anything.

Also, what is everyone doing about financial aid? I just submit my FAFSA last week and I was wondering if it'll cover all/most of tuition.

Hi all!

I haven't heard of anyone having to take out additional loans to cover tuition. It is all very confusing but each semester is about $10,000 or so. I would advise contacting the financial aid office if you have any questions. They are really helpful and will break everything down for you. The program is considered a "Graduate" program even though we are getting a BS, this allows us to get Graduate Fin. Aid.

As far as school goes, its a lot of work, but learn quickly to work together and divide things up (study guides, objectives, etc) to make the work load a little less. You being clinicals your 4th week into the semester =) Fun stuff.

Message me if you have any other questions. I just started at APU in January.

@sdgirl05, you should've already received orientation and your packet information through email from the program coordinator. If you haven't, send her an email, maybe she has the wrong email address. I am also in the SD ELM Summer 2011 cohort! I already received the orientation and packet so you should've by now. :-)

hey everyone--

I just got accepted for Summer 2011 at the SD campus... this is a perfect fit for my husband and I... but I also got into Boston college, USD, and maybe Yale..... and its hard to put the "big name" school behind me.... but APU is just such a great fit..... thoughts??? what is APU's reputation?? does the "Big name" matter in the end for NP's??

I have heard great things about APU, and that they have a great reputation, i am just wondering what you all have heard. Thanks!!!

sdgirl05-

i am currently in the elm program. financial aid covered my tuition. we are considered graduate students, so there is usually enough to cover the costs of tuition. books can be expensive for your first semester. apu offers a "package" at around $1200. i chose to buy my books off amazon/craigslist etc for about $800. so i would suggest saving money to buy books on your own. i had money left over from financial aid to buy the books, but i chose not to use.

as far as scholarships go, a lot of the ones i found want you to be in school already. just keep searching the internet for them. the school will have a few to offer as well. one that was offered is for under-represented groups in the nursing field (males, latino's, african americans- you will get more info once you start) i applied to a few on my own since i didn't qualify.

let me know if you have any other questions.

hi, i have accepted to the same program at apu. i would like to know if you may give me more information about the financial programs and loans for the program, please. does the loan or the financial aid cover my living expense as well? or it would just cover the tuition fees? i am independent and there is no one to support me on my living expenses. i am worry about my rent and living expenses because i know when i start the program it would be very hard to work and study. thank you.

Hey Everyone,

Congrats to those accepted!!! :)

For those who were accepted... will you tell us your stats?

Ex.

Undergrad major/GPA

Prereq GPA

Volunteer/work done

How your interview went?

And is there a difference between applying to the different campuses or is it the same level of difficulty to get in?

I'm applying this application period for the Azusa Campus and I'm crapping my pants lol...

Thank you so much in advance :heartbeat!
