APU 2+2 BSN program Spring 2022 Admissions

Published

Hello, future RNs!

This is a thread for the APU 2+2 BSN program Spring 2022 admissions.

I'm finishing up my application for APU's LVN to BSN program. I wanted to start a thread for this topic and connect with others applying to APU by the October 1st, 2021 deadline.

Good luck to everyone!

Has anyone heard either good or bad things about the APU BSN program? How is APU's student support and strictness of grading compared to other community college ADN programs? Is there a student program completion statistics anywhere?

I've already gotten into an ADN program, but is it worth taking the APU's BSN program instead (if I do get in) for better support to complete the program? Isn't better student support reasonable expectation since tuition is much higher? Love to get anyone's thoughts on this. Thanks!

Hi mynameisgee,

APU is my alma mater and I had nothing but a great experience with them. The student support is unmatched in my opinion.

Hi zhaogongzuoxm,

Those are fantastic GPAs! You will be a competitive candidate for sure. Are you an LVN or a transfer student?

Thank you for your encouragement. I am an LVN but did not work since last year.

Hi mynameisgee,

I agree with goodthoughts. I spent my freshman year (many moons ago LOL) at APU before I moved overseas. It is a fantastic school in general and the nursing program has a great reputation, and more importantly, good connections with clinical sites and future jobs. If you get into APU, definitely consider it over the ADN. I think the benefits outweigh the costs.

Hi Gee,

I am having exactly the same question. I applied for APU lvn-BSN and Mt.Sac ADN, I am searching for information regarding these two schools. I have a coworker who recently graduated from APU BSN. He is able to work while attending school. So I assume the study load is not too bad though he did mention a lot of essays.

Does anyone know since APU is a private school, if a graduate from their BSN program, will their courses credits  be accepted by other school if pursuing for MSN later? I have such question is because I attend the nursing info session of SBVC, they do not accept the science courses from any Trade School includes APU.

Hi zhaogongzuoxm,

from what I know, APU is a regionally accredited school and if transferring to another school, they should accept these courses.

Azusa Pacific is WASC accredited, meaning it is regionally accredited. That is the highest level of accreditation and all credits are transferable. It is private, but it is not a trade school. Trade schools almost always only have national accreditation, which means credits are not transferable. It's a little confusing, I know.

That’s great to know, thank you so much for your information.

Did you guys receive an email from your representative today? It states that our application is sent to the School of Nursing Admission for consideration, and the result will be finalized in November or December.

Hi Bobcat,

I received the same email. I hope we find out in November and not December.

I hope we find out in November too. I applied to the LVN-BSN IE campus and seeing all these GPA's, I am now getting nervous.
