i am going to start the apu nursing program and i was wondering how it was. good? bad?
thanks
Thanks for the insight...I was definitely initially browsing those areas as a possibility, but I'll probably steer clear. I'll also steer clear of the hippie stuff too, haha. I'm pretty sure Jeanee Tuckness (I believe that was her name), told me it was about 22 in the program...I could be wrong, but that's what I recall. Actually, I just read a post from last year and someone said their cohort had 30. Once we get all the paperwork keep in touch if you have any questions!!!
Hi there this is Renee from the APU San Diego Office. Our website quotes $32,736 which includes your tuition and lab fees. Additional costs will include books which is about $2,000 for the program, a PDA, software, immunizations, background checks, uniform, medical insurance, stethoscope and a laptop (if you do not have one already). Please give me a call and I would be happy to detail any of these expenses.
Hi there this is Renee, from APU in San Diego. I am currently working on the orientation information. I just received the list of 20 students who will be cohort 14 in September. You will be able to contact one another once I send the e-mail. For now enjoy yourself, once you get started you will hit the ground running.
Renee- Thank you for posting information on this site. It has been very helpful. I was told that the price per unit will be 545 instead of 496 which would put the 66 units we need to complete the EENAP program at almost 36k. Is this accurate or is the 32 thousand accurate? So the additional 2,000 dollars includes books and uniforms ect? Or just books?
I am very anxious to get ahold of the textbook information for I would like to start reading before the semester starts. When will you get the orientation information out? Thanks again.
I have contacted the graduate center regarding the cost of the tuition and lab fees and will get back with you. I want to be sure you are receiving the correct information. Regarding the $2,000, that is the cost of your books for the entire program. Your first semester you will purchase a book bundle which will be sold at our APU bookstore. You will be able to access on-line versions of the books, which is a real advantage. The bookstore has not yet put those bundles together, but we'll keep your class updated. This initial book bundle will cost about $1,200. You will use ALL these texts for the 4 semesters and will need to purchase additional books along the way. The cost will not exceed $2,000. The other things I mentioned will be additional costs. Please give me a call and we can detail some of the other expenses I mentioned.

I would stay away from La Mesa, El Cajon area. These are lower class areas. Also don't look for places in Oceanside, Encinitas ect....that is North County San Diego and that will take you forever to get to Mission Valley everyday. Surrounding areas that you would only be a few miles from the regional center would be Fashion Valley, Mission Valley, Mission Hills, North Park, Hillcrest areas. You can also check out the beach areas. I live in Pacific Beach and it is about 10 miles away from Campus. I wouldn't recommend Ocean Beach though, it is a very hippie area. Unless you are into that sort of thing. I have found one other girl who is starting in our cohort. I think she was on a different post though. Is there really only 20 something in our cohort. I was thinking 40 something. I am so anxious to get started already.
