Can anyone advise me on good places to live around ST. Joseph hosp. in Tacoma Washington. Or give me an idea on how to find a nice apt. or townhome. or rent house. I will be there the middle of May. Any ideas would be great...... Thank you soooo much....Candis

http://www.forrent.com Just plug in "Tacoma" , "Lakewood", "Spanaway/Parkland", "Fife/Milton" or "Puyallup", for example, or any of the other surrounding areas.......(I have no idea how far you want to go).
Just a word to the wise, avoid the "hilltop" neighborhood near St Joseph if you can. It's a pretty high-crime area. Some people I know live happily in North Tacoma. And there are areas AROUND Tacoma you can live and commute to St Joe's fairly easily

I live in North Tacoma. It's about 10 minutes to St Joe's, the most bautiful area of Tacoma - with a great park and waterfront. Lots of appartments with ocean view and they are decently priced (pretty similar to anywhere else in Tacoma).
You are an answer to my prayers, Could you give me the names of a few of these apts. or townhomes . That sounds perfect. I want to visit the web site or whatever and try to secure a place to live before arriving. You are wonderful, thank you for replying to me. I feel so much better. You never know where to go in a new city. Thanks again........Candis
Newport village is a pretty good one. It's one of those large complexes with a gym and a indoor and outdoor swimming pools. Park Terrace is a small one - two buildings - privately owned by one person. Nice, homey, and they have a view.... There is a lot of them all alongside Pearl Street, and a bunch more elswhere. Just go to the above mentioned web site. You'll find them all there, I'm sure.... Oh, and welcome to our Neighborhood :)
Thank you so much for all the help!!!! I really do appreciate it. I have taken a travel assignment at St. Joseph Hosp. Do you work at the hosp? I am seeing what the hospital is like, and hope to find a permanent place there in Wash. Thanks for the welcome!!! :)

No, I work at another, smaller hospital closeby. But my husbands stepdaughter had a baby at St. Joe's and my father in law was hospitalized there... It seems to be a nice place. I have never heared anything negative about it. :)
St Joe's has a very good reputation in and around Tacoma. You could definately do worse. Good luck to you.
Where do you work by the way, if I may ask... Just curious :)
