I read this in a daily nurses calendar at work & had to share.
"As a male RN in an ER, I really should have seen this one comiong. On April Fool's Day, I picked up a chart and walked out to the waiting room to call my next patient without really looking at anything more than the chief complaint - "lady partsl bleeding." The name on the chart ws Gynahurtz, Myva. So who stood in the waiting area yelling for Myva? Myva Gynahurtz? At least 2 other nurses, a couple of techs & 1 police officer, all rolling on the floor laughing at that one.":rotfl:

One of our ER doctors planted rx pads in one of our gullable nurses purse. He then told the police officer who had just brought in an EP to question her and search her purse as the rest of the ER staff giggled in the hallway outside the break room. Oh, if I only had a camera to take a picture of her face when she stormed out of the room to find all of us in on the prank!!

Ok mine wasn't nearly as bad as those but it still gave me palpitations, as it was played on me...
I was in nursery and it had been a night from Hades so far....something like 9 admits from 7pm to midnight. So it's about 0045 or something and the unit coordinator calls to give me a headsup on what L/D looks like...."Pt ABC is going to rm 14, EFG is going to 17, and just thought I'd let you know there's two sets of twins, they're both term. One's at 8-9, one's at 4, so they'll all be born on April 1st." I'm like, yeah, I know. (thinking "Holy crap!!! I'm going insane!!" She says, do you get what I'm saying? I say, Yes, that means they're all coming to ME. She says NO, I'M SAYING THEY'RE GOING TO BE BORN ON APRIL FOOLS DAY!! Oooh, I wanted to kick her butt. But it was a good one, I thought.

An oldie, but goodie:
I got a urine speciemin cup and put some tea in it. I walked out of a resident's room, held it up to the light, unscrewed the cap, and proceded to drink a bit. Then said, "Hmm, a bit sugary" The people around me about fainted.
