approval from the bon after d.o.?

Published

Before I started nursing school I had to submit a declaratory order to the tx bon, then i received a letter in the mail saying i needed to send $150 for further review with the enforcement department. I did that. Then shortly after I received a blue card stating my criminal background check was clear. Now, I have graduated with my bsn.. so when i applied for approval take my nclex, my eligibility for license could not be processed due to incomplete application because my prior declaratory order was closed as no response on request. I called the bon and they said they had sent a letter in the mail but i never responded so my declaratory order closed after a year from the time i started it. I have sent in my new declaratory order and i am now going through the whole process again. However, i cannot remember receiving the letter from bon. if i did i do not remember what it said. my question is.. is receiving the blue card of criminal background clearance still approval from the board? and the reason my previous declaratory was not approved was because i did not respond to the last piece of mail or would i have been possibly denied even with receiving a blue card of criminal background clearance?

Did they say when they sent the letter? Like how long after you received your blue card? I'm pretty much in same boat as you. Received my blue card but haven't got anything in the mail and I am starting my BSN in the fall.

I'm sure the fact that you received your blue card already and was clear, there should't be a problem and you won't get denied for no reason.

all they said was that it was 2 years ago they sent it. i think recieved my blue card at 4 months or around that i know it didn't take the full 6 months because i was surprised that it did not. i hope so, but another girl in my class had to do the declaratory order too but they just sent her an approval letter and not a blue card.

I called the BON today and asked if they were going to send a letter or if I needed to do anything else after I received my blue card. The lady said no...

Thats so weird. Maybe you should call and speak to someone else?

I did they said that pretty much it was weird that I was given a blue card but my criminal background check was clear. i don't see how it was.. maybe because they are so old? I think all of the charges have been destroyed by the court because they have to throw them out so often. I told the truth on my application, statements, documents, etc... Idk it is all very confusing to me.

did you tell her that you paid for the enforcement review?
