would appreciate any advice

Nurses General Nursing

Published

I've been a pediatric nurse for 12 years. I recently quit my job at the hospital to try some new adventure like travel nursing. What I have found out is there is few general peds assignments. You're in higher demand if you have PICU or ED exp. I was wondering if anyone had any advice as to the best way to broaden your experience short of taking a regular position on that type of floor. I thought of doing per diem, but you really need to have some experience first. Also, would like to get more experience with things like starting iv's and central lines and was wondering if there are any courses out there with a clinical component to them that I could take. If anyone could help me out with this I would sure appreciate it. Thank you. :spin:
