I meant here, at least most of the programs I've seen in America, you need to work as a Labor and Delivery nurse for at least a year or two before they will take you as a midwife student. I think it's that way with most Master's degree programs. Plus I'd personally want to have the experience to make sure this is what I want to do before paying all that money and time to go through more schooling.

Hi,
I am currently a new grad RN and have just applied for the post grad diploma student midwife position. They will probably have interviews the end of this month beginning of september.
Do you have any advice for the interview (if I get one?) also, as this is any area I would really like to get into, I will apply again next year if I don't get a position this time. Would love some advice for the aspiring midwife?
