Hi guys,
Just wondering how it works. One must first apply to the school with nursing program, right? Wait to hear back to see whether they've been accepted. THEN apply to their nursing program? The only thing is...what if I apply for Spring to a school & I don't get in (bc impacted major)..what would my options be? Can I reapply to the school for the Fall and try again? :{
-if thats not how it works & only can apply once to a school per yr..would it be better to apply for Spring or Fall?
thanks..this is so overwhelming :{

It depends on the school. at some schools, the nursing school application is also the application for the school. Some, you do have to submit two applications, one for the school and one for the nursing program. You submit them both at the same time and hope for two acceptance letters. though it would be rare to get into the nursing program but not the school.
Check with the individual schools you are applying to.

I know here in Fl where I am from. I had to apply to the school. For in which I start in January for spring. I cant apply for the actual nursing program until I have my prereqs in. Then there is a yr waiting list. Just go meet with an academic advisor at the school your interested in. They can give you all the ins and outs of it all. Most are all pretty helpful. Good luck to you in this venture. I am just starting it myself. :0)

Definitely go in and see an adviser. As the others said, it depends on the school. Around here, it can go either way. At the private school, there is one application. If you're accepted to the school, you're also accepted to the nursing program. But at the state college, you apply to the college first, complete pre-reqs if you haven't already, and then apply to the nursing program. It's a competative program so you get accepted by having a good GPA, etc. Some programs admit once a year, some twice.
Every school is different. Lots of times the info can be found on the school's website. But definitely go see an adviser! :)
