  1. I am just beginning this myself too. I applied @ Valenica. I start in January 2012. I also scored very low on the entrance exam. They suggested I take the prep math classes. I hate math. I know I want to be able to be a good nurse. Be confident with my schools. So I am going ahead and taking the prep courses. In turn I do want to pursue my BSN. There is alot of help if you are struggling with math. Tutors, other classmates, websites and even youtube. You can this. Just have confidence in yourself and that this is what you truly want to do. Set your mind to it and do it. :)
  2. I know here in Fl where I am from. I had to apply to the school. For in which I start in January for spring. I cant apply for the actual nursing program until I have my prereqs in. Then there is a yr waiting list. Just go meet with an academic advisor at the school your interested in. They can give you all the ins and outs of it all. Most are all pretty helpful. Good luck to you in this venture. I am just starting it myself. :0)
  3. Well I have decided to go to VCC. I know it is a yr wait. At same I want to go to UCF for my BSN. So while I wait that yr. I can knock out my prereqs for UCF. So once I am done at VCC, I can slide right into UCF. I am so relieved. Feel less stressed. I finally made that final decision for my future.
  4. I went to a tech school for my Medical assisting degree I have decided to further my career and become and RN. I am going to start in spring 2012. I still dont know where to go. I am thinking Valencia and Seminole State. I am starting completely from scratch. I still have to do prep math and all my prereqs. I cant decide where to go. Can anyone who has went to either of these schools give me some heads up and your thoughts on the education. I would like to start at one school and stay there for the RN program too. So I am trying to decide which school to go to. I hear so mnay different things from each. I hear Valencia has a 1 yr waiting list for RN program. I have a bit to go before I am at that point. I still want to keep it in consideration. Then Seminole state there is no waiting list. It is is harder to get into. So I just dont know where to even begin. Where to go to school in January. So any thoughts would be very much appreciated.
  5. How exciting for you all. I am just starting out. I will be starting Spring 2012 for first time in college. So I have to get all my gen ed/prereqs in. So I am very early in all of this. I know I have a long time before I can be where you all are. I am excited still though. To know I will someday be there. Congrats to you all. I wish you all the luck and success.
  6. Hello everyone, I way behind you all. I am actually just in the process to start college for first time. I went to a tech school for my medical assistant degree. I wanted to keep going and go for my RN degree. So my issue right now is where to go. I have been to Valencia and I have been to SSC. I will be enrolling for the spring 2012 start date for my prereqs. I am so tossed. I dont even know where to go> I dont know whether to go to Valencia or to go to SCC. I am so conflicted. I hear there is a such a long waiting list for valencia. Then I hear that there is no waiting list for SSC. It is harder to get into it the Rn program. I dont even know what to do. I want to wish you all luck with what ever school you go to. I hope you all get in. :)
  7. Thank you so much for the info. Sorry if I put this in wrong section. Just signed up for this forum. Still learning my way around.
  8. Hello everyone, I am currently a Medical Assistant. I have decided to go back to school to become an RN. So I will be starting in the spring, January 2012. I went to a tech school for my MA degree. So this will be my first time in real college. I am a bit confused on some things. Not sure if anyone can help me. So I see there are prereqs I have to take before I can get into the RN program. I understand those. One of my concerns there are prereqs before the preqs if that makes sense. Do I have to take those before I can take the actual prereqs for the RN program? The other question is when I tested for the entrance exam to the college. It said I scored low on math. Said I need a math course too. There is no math course outlined in the prereqs for the RN program. So why are they saying I have to take a math course? So confused... if anyone can help defumble this from my brain I would truly appreciate it. Thank you~ freaking out pre-nursing student.
